Treating High Stress With HSP

If you are a person who is affected by hyperhidrosis (a condition that causes excessive sweating) then you have probably heard of HSP. People who suffer from HSP also have a difficulty in finding a suitable cure that will reduce or totally eliminate the excessive sweating that they experience. They can experience an average of four or more sweat profusely in a day and may have difficulty in leaving their homes. There are three types of HSP.

 

Sensory processing hypersensitivity is a personality or emotional characteristic characterized by a heightened sensitivity to both physical and emotional stimuli. They may also have an intense fear of failure in various situations.

 

There are several treatments available for HSP but none has proven to be 100% effective. Some of these treatments include:

 

  • Psychological therapy. Psychological therapy aims to identify the cause of your HSP and change the way you think about and deal with your condition. Therapists may use psychoanalytical methods or talk therapies. Psychological therapies may also include psychodynamic treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy and social skills training.
  • Medications. There are many medications that are used for treating this condition including anti-depressants, anticholinergic medications, and beta blockers. These medications must be taken under the care of a medical doctor.
  • There are many different ways to treat HSP and they each come with different advantages and disadvantages. No matter what type of treatment you choose to try it is always best to talk to your doctor about your condition and find the most suitable option for you.
  • Lifestyle Changes. One of the most effective ways to treat your HSP is to make some lifestyle changes. This includes avoiding stress and doing physical activities that will reduce stress levels such as yoga, swimming, hiking, cycling, dancing and aerobics.
  • If stress is causing your stress then reducing stress levels is highly recommended. Many people will have to do all of the above mentioned activities to relieve themselves from the stress that comes with a severe HSP. If you want to decrease your stress, you can take up a hobby or exercise.
  • Diet. Eating a balanced diet helps you deal with your anxiety. It is recommended that you eat foods that are high in protein, carbohydrates and fiber to reduce stress. The good bacteria in your body to help you cope with your stress.
  • Supplements. There are many dietary supplements that can help you reduce your stress.
  • If the above mentioned methods do not work for you then you should talk to your doctor about a more serious problem. They may suggest you see a psychiatrist or psychologist.
  • Medication. Your doctor may prescribe a medication such as antipsychotics, antidepressants or benzodiazepines. These medications are sometimes used for treating an acute episode of this condition.
  • Natural Remedies. Natural supplements are also available. These supplements are made from herbs and other natural products that have been used for centuries.

While prescription medicines are often effective they are not always the best solution
